ABSTRACT ARTDescriptionone-act play, 2 M
"This is not one thought, but actually many thoughts, so I'll begin slowly."
More a "happening" or a "theatrical prank" than a play,
Abstract Art is one man telling his bizarre story to an audience who thinks they're here to see
Our Town.

FOUR ANIMAL PLAYS
Description
play cycle: 2 M, 1 W
"This is simply more than I can bear."
A short-play cycle written as a gift to the Dead Pinocchio Theatre at Albion College. The plays individually explore the blurred lines between animals and humans, and are comprised of:
"The Trouble With Being Endangered": two pandas try and make amends,
"To Kill the Queen": written in iambic pentameter, about the extent to which greed corrupts two bishop-bees,
"Neuron": the limits of friendship in lab rats,
"Dangerous Meditations": an homage to the play that made me want to start writing, The Zoo Story.

THE FRENCHMAN
Description
ten-minute play: 2 W
"Today you seem to be, with an alarming frequency, speaking as an authority on many things about which you are not an expert: squirrels and ethicists, philosophy, philology, and the predictability of falling Frenchmen. I consider it quite rude."
One day, an unconscious Frenchman falls from a tree onto Doris' foot, while she is sharing a bag of popcorn with her sister, Regina. Doris doesn't seem to mind it at all, though, much to the persistent confusion of her sister. Pity. They were so looking forward to a pleasant day.

IT'S PEOPLE LIKE YOU
Descriptionone-act play: 2 M
"It's people like you that make my life a living hell!"
My first play, It's People Like You follows two men who wait for their phone service to pick up after they get into a non-fatal car accident. What follows is a tale about liberalism, co-existence, and the supreme awkwardness within us all.

PERCHANCE TO DREAM
Descriptionone-act play: 1 M, 1 W
"Let's sit here on the floor, and talk about everything."
An experiment in narrative, as well as an exploration of my own ideas regarding Surrealism and philosophy, Perchance to Dream is the frenetic dream of a nine-day-old baby the night before she dies, and is a dialogue between (among others) her and an elderly Salvador Dali, King Lear, an unnamed vagrant, and a noted art historian.
